Essentially, in the spirit of the words of Jonathan Swift, Roger allows the invisible to become visible through art, and creates a powerful multidimensional experience for his clients. Moving into a trance-like state induced by the artistic process, the illusions of time and space are suspended in order for Roger to connect with Spirit Guides, Collective Consciousnesses, and Past and Future Lives from other dimensions.
Bit by bit, their image appears on canvas, and the client then takes away from this experience a work of art which serves as a portal for future communication.
When we embrace our multidimensional nature, we integrate the totality of who we are. We, as spiritual, energetic beings, are not just having one life experience. We are having many. The Transition from Psychic Art to Visionary Art
After several years of using the title, “Psychic Artist,” Roger Hanson was guided during one of his own art experiences to embrace a new title, “Visionary Artist.” Seeing the actual words “visionary artist” appear on canvas, and having never heard the title before, Roger quickly conducted a google search. He was surprised to see that an American Visionary Art Museum existed. On it, he found some very interesting text which solidified his positive feelings about the new title.
To summarize, the museum has this to say: “Visionary art is produced by self-taught individuals, usually without formal training, whose works arise from an innate personal vision that revels foremost in the creative act itself. Visionary art is entirely spontaneous and individualized. Visionary artists don’t listen to anyone else’s traditions. They invent their own. They hear their inner voice so resoundingly that they may not even think of what they do as art.”
These statements resounded so truthfully for Roger as it related to his own process. He is not a trained artist and he doesn’t draw what he sees with his eyes. With clear intention, he simply allows images from the non-physical to appear uncontrolled through smudges, lines, and textures which occur automatically during the art-making process. As the art is being produced, Roger moves into a channelling space from which he receives messages of guidance, love, and support from the beings which have inspired the art.
